The seas of Nova were named by its humanoid peoples, and those are the names sailors use today.
The Giantsea
The icy waters around Glacithar, broken by countless small islands. Sailors named it for the last Giants, who still live on its frozen shores.
The Gloaming Sea
The westernmost sea, between Sanctara and Tidegate. Its name comes from the fading light after sunset, since it's where the last of the day disappears. The Anchorage lies beneath its waves.
The Morrow Sea
The eastern sea between Roh-ber and Ezogashima, where the sun rises. It mirrors the Gloaming in the west.
Liora's Sea
The southern sea between Aurumhold and Aetheria, named for Liora the Wellspring, founder of Aethovenezia. Her statue at the harbor mouth pours water into the bay, and Aetherians like to say she filled the sea herself. The trade route between Aethovenezia and Roh-ber crosses it, and Ravus raiders hunt its ships.
The Leviathine Ocean
The Leviathine Ocean has yet to be charted. It surrounds all the known seas, and many believe that sailing east past Ezogashima would bring a ship all the way around to Sanctara, but none who have tried it have returned to say so. Sailors say leviathans rule its depths, and the old charts mark its edges with a single warning: here be monsters.
