Umral

Umral, the Stone Forger

Domain

Forge, Artistry, Stone work

Description

Umral is the deity of earth, crafting, and endurance, depicted as a granite-skinned smith wielding a hammer of aetheric stone. His forges power Nova’s relics. In turn he is aligned with the Second Umbral Moon (the fourth month of the calendar year)

In the timeline, Umral forges stone: one of The Twelve, the ancient aetheric deities that emerged at the beginning of Nova (0000), shaping the landscape of Roh-ber.

Worshippers

Artisans in Aurumhold and Sylvaris honor Umral, crafting with his aether. They protect his fonts from corruption.

Symbol

A stone hammer with glowing runes.

Personality

Umral is the immovable foundation of Nova’s craftsmanship: a colossal figure of living granite, skin veined with quartz and obsidian, eyes glowing like molten inclusions deep within rock. His hammer—forged from aetheric stone—rings with the slow, resonant beat of mountains forming. He moves with deliberate, tectonic grace, each strike measured across eons. Umral is enduring artistry incarnate—a stoic creator who sees beauty in permanence, crafting relics that outlast empires. In his deep forges, his aether pulses through veins of ore, turning raw earth into masterpieces of function and form, teaching that true art endures the ages.

Core Motivation

Creation of Lasting Legacy. Umral forges not for glory today, but for relics that whisper his name millennia hence—artifacts, monuments, even souls shaped by patient labor. He believes endurance is the highest art: stone outlives flesh, crafted works outlive their makers. Nova’s relics bear his touch because he invests eternity in every hammer fall.

Greatest Flaw

Inflexible Perfectionism. Umral's devotion to permanence makes him resistant to change or innovation that lacks "timeless worth." He scorns hasty work, ephemeral art, or anything disposable, sometimes refusing to bless creations that could evolve.

Pet Peeves/Taboos

Wasteful crafting, rushed deadlines, fragile materials. Followers vow to repair rather than replace, and never forge in anger—only calm resolve.

Grudges & Cold Wars

The Anti-Voryn Coalition

Members: Thalyn, Umral, Solara, Luneth, Zephyris, Othar, Aurath, Myrath.

"we tolerate shadows but despise this level of deceit" consensus. Voryn's constant teasing lies and cult manipulations have burned too many bridges. They don't actively hunt him, but his name is a curse in their temples, and his followers get extra scrutiny/harsh judgment.

Umral vs. Zephyris

Umral's frustration boils over here: Zephyris flits freely, unbound by weight or permanence, while Umral is chained to anvil and stone. Zephyris's effortless agility mocks Umral's laborious craft. Umral envies the lack of "responsibility" and quietly resents how Zephyris scatters his carefully placed monuments with casual gusts.

Friendly & Teasing

Aurath, Umral, Othar

practical, reliable friendships built on shared craftsmanship and trade.

Intimate Relationships

Umral single & frustrated

jealous of Zephyris's freedom, surrounded by coupled gods, pouring frustration into his anvil.
