Overview
Roh-ber is a vibrant, fractious continent on Nova, shaped by the Aether of The Twelve, whose cosmic influence defines its landscapes, cultures, and conflicts. Their Aether flows through sacred fonts, fueling the Triad’s nations (Sylvaris The Verdant Republic, Aurumhold The Gilded Dominion, Tidegate The Stormborn League) and their war against the Ravus Empire, while Primal cults exploit this power to summon chaotic Primals. Roh-ber’s geography reflects the gods’ domains—rivers from Myrath, storms from Thalyn, entropy from Eclipsa—while its cultures revere these forces through rituals and customs, interpreting natural phenomena as divine echoes. The continent is a battleground of ideology, with the Triad’s alliance clashing with Ravus’ imperialism and the Primal cults’ apocalyptic ambitions.
Nations
- Sylvaris, the Verdant Republic (southern central jungles)
- Aurumhold, the Gilded Dominion (southwest desert plains)
- Tidegate, the Stormborn League (southwest archipelago)
- Ravus Empire (northern Roh-ber)
Peoples
The Aetherkin Guilds comprise diverse members: humans, elves, tritons, gnolls, trolls, and more. Tidegate's diverse races include tritons, genasi, and tabaxi.
Capitals and Aether Halls
The Aetherkin Guilds operate from Aether Halls in Verdantspire, Gemcradle, and Coralhaven. All the Aether Halls in the capitals of Roh-ber's nations have portals that connect to the other Roh-ber capitals; this portal network exists only in Roh-ber.
In the timeline
- 0000: Nova begins as the Astral Moon and Umbral Moon align, forming Roh-ber. The Twelve emerge, shaping its landscape. The first races (Dragons, Giants, Fairies) emerge in Roh-ber.
- Circa 1000: The War of the First Races fractures Roh-ber, creating the other continents.
- Circa 3100: Dawn Haven rises in Roh-ber.
- Circa 5000: Roh-ber's Dawn Haven asserts dominance through technology, magic and trade.
- 5352: Dawn Haven falls; the First Shattering.
- After the First Shattering: Before the Shattering, Roh-ber was all one continental country. After it, the remnants grew into their own cultures and then into nations: Sylvaris, Aurumhold, Tidegate and the Ravus Empire, which grew out of the ashes of the Shattering. Only Sylvaris, Aurumhold and Tidegate are the Triad.
- Circa 5400: Roh-ber's survivors rebuild to four different nations, using aetheric fonts to restore stability and honor The Twelve.
- 6342: The Ravus Empire launches a campaign to conquer Roh-ber; the Triad forms (see Triad-Ravus War).
