Kiyomura Clan

The Kiyomura Clan is the most influential of the Sakura Clans, based in Kiyomura, Ezogashima’s capital city at the base of Mount Kiyosume. Devoted to Amateru and Hachiman, they lead the coalition of clans under the Shogun’s Council, overseeing the Shrine of the Kami, which houses a sacred Ebon Scale. As the economic and political heart of Ezogashima, they manage trade with Roh-ber, exporting Aetheric Silk and Sakura Blossoms via caravans on Golden Sakura Raptors. Their samurai and Tabaxi scouts uphold bushido, making them resistant to the Ravus Empire’s tempting trade offers but vulnerable to Order of the Ouroboros infiltration via Shadow Ninjas. Their strict adherence to tradition fuels tensions with the more independent Tsukishima Clan and the trade-open Sakurajima Clan.

Resources

  • Golden Sakura Raptors: Used for patrols, ceremonies, and caravans, adorned with Aetheric Silk saddles and barding.
  • Aetheric Silk
  • Sakura Blossoms
  • Ebon Scale

Cultural practices

The clan performs tea ceremonies at the Temple of Amateru, using Sakura Blossoms to channel the god’s radiance. Samurai train in the Kagutsuchi Forge, crafting Aether katanas imbued with radiant energy. Tabaxi scouts lead trade caravans, while Kenku artisans weave silk and maintain the Blossom Market. Humans serve as guards, and dragonborn and kobolds handle menial tasks like stable upkeep for Sakura Raptors.

Goals

Uphold bushido, protect the Ebon Scale in the Shrine of the Kami, maintain trade with Roh-ber, and unify the Sakura Clans against the Ravus Empire. They aim to prevent Ravus influence and raids, but their rigid leadership sparks rivalry with other clans.

Leadership

The clan is led by Shogun Amaya Takahiro (human female), who also chairs the Shogun’s Council.

  • Tsukishima Clan: Resents Kiyomura’s dominance, viewing them as overbearing. Disputes arise over control in the Tsukishima Peaks.
  • Sakurajima Clan: Tensions stem from Sakurajima’s openness to Ravus trade, which Kiyomura sees as disloyalty to the Shogunate.
  • Shogun’s Council: The Kiyomura Clan forms the Council’s backbone, with their leader, Shogun Amaya Takahiro, chairing it.
  • Ravus Empire: Sabotages Kiyomura’s trade with spies, offering wealth to undermine Shogunate authority.

Locations

  • Kiyomura: The clan’s base, centered around the Shrine of the Kami, Shogun’s Palace, and Blossom Market.
  • Shinkyo: Sends envoys to mediate disputes at the Shrine of Creation.
  • Eboncrater: Leads coalition efforts to stop Klythar’s awakening.
